Using GolfGenius
We use the sophisticated tournament management software Golf Genius. This allows parents, teachers and fellow players to follow the progress of the game.
On the day of the tournament players will be asked to log in to the Golf Genius app using the GGID code that is given specifically for their tee time and then to enter the scores during the round into the app. So it is therefore most helpful if players arrive at the event having prepared in advance of their SchoolsGolf tournament.
People wishing to follow the progress of the game will use a different GGID that is available via the Event Portal for that tournament. Scoring will be available to view up to the 14th hole, after which the scores are hidden.

Players should download the GolfGenius App to their phones before arriving at the tournament. Links as follows: App Store – Google Play
Player actions in advance of a tournament
Players need to set up a SchoolsGolf player profile via this link
Players only need to do this once. Info they need to have ready to create their profile:
- CDH / WHS number that relates to their handicap
- their email address as their primary login address
- a parent or guardian’s email address
- a school contact email address e.g director of golf
Tournament packing checklist
Apart from bringing your golf clubs, here are a few other things to check you have with you.
- Fully charged mobile phone with the GolfGenius app installed
- Fully charged distance finder, if you use one.
- Golf shoes + indoor shoes for the clubhouse
- Tees and a pencil
- Waterproofs etc
- Important: Please check the the dress code for the golf club. Some clubs require long socks with shorts e.g. Blackwell
On the Tournament Day
Please arrive in good time. Practice facilities are available at most of our tournaments. Check in with our SchoolsGolf representative. You should already have checked your player GGID online. If not it can be found on the event portal under the tab Tee sheets – check your tee time and then switch tabs to the GGIDs that correspond to that tee time.
Please note – due to last minute player changes, tee times can change up until the morning of the event. Please keep an eye on the portal.
Player groupings are mostly arranged by handicap, so players will mix with people from other schools. Photographs may be taken of playing groups teeing off, and during the day on the course.
A light meal e.g sandwiches and chips or similar is provided and all players are expected to change their shoes before entering the clubhouse for this.
If for any reason you need to leave prior to the presentation, please notify the SchoolsGolf representative.
Advice for parents/carers attending on the day
Please double check the portal as tee times are subject to change on the day. Please be aware of our policies for watching your young players. Please also check the dress code of the club you are visiting as jeans are often not allowed at golf clubs, the dress code normally applies to non-players. Remote working at golf clubs is usually ok, but many have restrictions on making calls in the public areas of the clubhouse, so please check in advance or on arrival.
