A new venue, excellent scoring, and a warm welcome combined to make another outstanding SchoolsGolf event at Farleigh Golf Club.
SchoolsGolf visited Farleigh for the first time this week, with 49 players representing nine schools competing across the club’s Green Course, incorporating both the Blue and Yellow loops. As one of the newest additions to the SchoolsGolf calendar, Farleigh proved to be an excellent host venue, providing a challenging and enjoyable test for players of all ages and abilities.
The day began with a superb rolling brunch, which proved extremely popular with players, teachers, and parents before heading to the first tee. The relaxed atmosphere provided a fantastic opportunity for competitors to meet fellow players from across the SchoolsGolf network before the competition got underway.
Despite some threatening weather forecasts throughout the afternoon, competitors managed to avoid the worst of the conditions and enjoyed a largely dry day of golf. The course was presented in excellent condition, rewarding good course management while still allowing players opportunities to attack and score.
The Stableford and Scratch competitions both produced some excellent golf, with several players returning impressive scores despite the challenging conditions. The event was also notable for the outstanding sportsmanship shown throughout the field, reflecting the values that continue to make SchoolsGolf such a positive experience for young golfers.
As SchoolsGolf continues to expand, Farleigh Golf Club proved to be an excellent addition to the schedule. The quality of the venue, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent facilities ensured a memorable experience for all involved. We would like to thank Farleigh and its staff for hosting such a successful event and look forward to returning in the future.
